Work begins on Mary Cole House in the Wirral

Croft Goode are delighted that having gained planning approval their scheme with Magenta Living for the extension and renovation of Mary Cole House.

Croft Goode Architects have worked closely with the Wirral Ark Project Team to develop a design proposal for the extension and refurbishment of Mary Cole House. Constructed initially in 2000, remodelled in 2004 and extended to add a training facility in 2009, the building provides essential shelter and support to the local community. The use of the building will continue although the proposal will improve the bed space with private facilities that will enhance the level of care and support, as well as the overall improvement of facilities for those in need. The proposed extension creates a mixed two/three storey building and the design of the building is proposed to have a central courtyard that will allow for private and safe outdoor  space for residents and users of Wirral Ark.  The proposed external appearance of Wirral Ark is modern in style and responds positively to the character of the street scene whilst remaining in-keeping with the commercial setting, as per the conceptual visualisation below.

Wirral Churches Ark Project has now started on site, progress photos to follow.
